Overview

With more viewing space, the Iphone 6 Plus and iOS 8 takes advantage of that extra space by enabling a split-screen feature which is valuable in apps such as Messages, Mail, and Calendar. In Mail while in landscape mode, you'll be able to view messages on the left and the text on the right.  If you don't want this feature you can disable it.

Step 1 - Disabling the Split Screen

Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > View. First disable the spilt screen by enabling Display Zoom.

Step 2 - Configure Settings

Tap "Zoomed" and tap Set. A notice will notify you that changing display zoom will require a restart. Press "Use Zoomed".

Step 3 - Restart the Phone

Once restarted you should will not have split screen available in your apps.

Step 4 - Other Buttons will not be Available
